Text in image: Student-Led Accountability Protest – “The Work Is Not Done”

All community members are invited to march together from Westerville South High School to City Hall, where students and community members will speak.

Location: Starts at Westerville South High School then proceeds to City Hall at 21 S State St (approx. 1-mile)

This student-led protest supported by WeRISE of Greater Westerville will be a:

  1. CALL FOR JUSTICE and accountability for the killing of a child, 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant.
  2. REMINDER that the verdict in the Chauvin case is not a job well done. There is still so much work to be done. We saw accountability in the Chauvin case but it was not justice.
  3. OPPORTUNITY for students to share thoughts on current events and experiences in our local community that show the need for the work of WeRISE.
  4. MOMENT to re-engage our community and get back on the pavement – both figuratively and literally. This will help bolster the work we need to do as WeRISE.

COVID-19 precautions: Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
