All community members are invited to march together from Westerville South High School to City Hall, where students and community members will speak.
Location: Starts at Westerville South High School then proceeds to City Hall at 21 S State St (approx. 1-mile)
This student-led protest supported by WeRISE of Greater Westerville will be a:
- CALL FOR JUSTICE and accountability for the killing of a child, 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant.
- REMINDER that the verdict in the Chauvin case is not a job well done. There is still so much work to be done. We saw accountability in the Chauvin case but it was not justice.
- OPPORTUNITY for students to share thoughts on current events and experiences in our local community that show the need for the work of WeRISE.
- MOMENT to re-engage our community and get back on the pavement – both figuratively and literally. This will help bolster the work we need to do as WeRISE.
COVID-19 precautions: Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
